Belize, Central America, 2003

I love travelling, seeing new places and scuba diving in warm, tropical waters. So when my friend Dan sent email asking if I'd like to join him in Belize, I jumped at the chance. It had been 2.5 years since my last real vacation and four years since my last holiday in the tropics. I had heard many good things about Belize from a naturalist/scuba diving viewpoint, and that made it seem all the more desirable as a holiday destination. Plus, I was very excited about finally travelling to a country without a McDonald's.
