I like sharks. A lot. I like big, toothy creatures in general, but for some reason, sharks hold a special place in my heart. One of the reasons I learned to dive was so I could see sharks close-up, in their own environment. And I've been lucky enough to have done that, to a small extent. But big sharks, like most big predators, are elusive and often difficult to find. I've been wanting to cage dive with great white sharks since I first heard it was possible. I figured this was a way that I could actually see one of my favourite animals underwater. And in August 2007, my dream came true...
